RockShox Seatpost - Are they worth it?

I have the opportunity to get one of these pretty cheap. Do they make a difference - either positive or negative? What are your experiences with suspension seat post on touring/road bikes?

i got one from price pt for 50, i teamed it with my Brooks B17 on my hardtail and it has some firm cush, but im going to find the softer elastomer (im 150 lbs) because it dosnt come with any, and i like a softer ride.
ive also heard of the USE replacement springs being the same size (?) and i want to experiment

the blue paint is cool with my bike and it seems pretty solid. but the adjustment clamp screws are too close laterally to the shaft, making it a pain.

this was my first suspension seatpost, but ive tried the Thudbuster, which is sortof like a fun bouncy rockingchair

I had a Rockshox sus post on my hardtail a few years back. It performed fairly, I didn't really care for for it, and got rid of it. Then I tried out the Brooks Conquest sprung saddle......much more effective in dampening, IMO. I still use it.

Agreed. The Brooks Champion Flyer was all I really need. I've used the Thudbuster and found it works very well. Like all things, you get what you paid for. Expect to pay at least 100 USD for a good unit.

I've seen lots of posts about Brooks saddles. I currently use a split saddle to take pressure off the "boys". On my old (cheap) saddle I had lots of discomfort on rides over 90 minutes. Does anyone experience this problem using the Brooks Conquest or other sprung saddle?
