5 Ways to be a more Bike (touring) Friendly Business

After staying at tons of different types of accommodations on our last tour, we've had a lot of time to think about real simple ways businesses could be more accommodating to bike tourists. We also mention a few places that go above and beyond for bike tourists.

Watcha think? Anything else you'd add?

There's a campground in Hope, B.C. which offers a special rate for cyclists. When I'm riding from the Okanagan to the coastal areas of British Columbia, I try to stop there. Another campground had a much higher rate, but they offered to lock my bike in their storage shed so I could get into town without the bike.

I also remember pulling in at one hotel in Grand Forks, B.C. It was a rainy day and I was quite drenched. However, not only did they let me take my bike into the room, they also gave me an old towel to wipe it down.

At one hotel in New Denver, B.C., the owners offered to let me store my bike in their laundry room. That was much easier than trying to haul it up a flight of stairs.
    Life is good.

I was checking into a motel in Moab, UT a couple years ago and was told by the nice clerk that bikes were not permitted in rooms. That was a problem for me since I was going to be there five days and wanted to have the bikes with me. I asked for a recommendation of another place that would allow the bikes. They sent me to the Moab Inn which allowed bikes in the room, provided a rubber mat to put the bikes on and gave me a stack of clean rags so I could wipe the bike down as I wanted to. Not only were they so very bike friendly (duh, it's Moab!!), but they were just across the street from the brew pub.
Those voices in your head aren't real, but they have some great ideas
