HillCusser, While a nice older tourer, I think there's some sentimentality in the pricing.

I think that at that price, and with the extras: it leaves room for a new 11-34 rear cassette and some new front gearing ~

He is almost giving that bike away. Apparently, you don't know the market for a Miyata 1000. The frameset alone goes for more.

SweetLou, I reckon I don't and I'm probably in the majority of people who will read that ad. Hopefully a Myata affectionate sees that ad for the seller's sake.

If it was a little smaller, It would be sold and I would consider myself very lucky.

For the seller's sake, I hope no one sees it, he puts it on eBay and get its true worth. For the buyer's sake, I hope he gets there before everyone else and before the many emails to the seller causing him it up the price.

If it was my size, I would consider renting a car and travel down there to get it.

Wasn't there a Craigslist/Ebay find thread (just like in the Classic and Vintage sub-forum) in this board before?

If these vintage frames are so valuable, why isn't everyone still making one? Surely (Surly?) there's a market for them.

@jeffpoulin There is someone making this type of steel frame - Rivendell. But they're not selling them for $375.

Excellent price IMHO...unfortunately about 5cm too small

Current value replacement bike is going to be $1500+

The vintage Cannondale bags alone would probably bring over $100 on eBay, it looks like a pretty good deal to me. Having said that, there was a 1000 on Ft. Myers FL craigslist a few months ago for less than $200, good deals are out there...

I talked with Rivendell last week. I'm still trying to decide between an AHH or the Sam Hillborne.
