SIZe Question Jamis Aurora

Hi,

I have a 56cm IRO Phoenix single speed. It is a little too big for me, but fine for commuting. I am looking into getting a Jamis Aurora. The sizing of the 55cm Aurora seems very similar to the 56 IRO ss? Mening I should go with the 53 cm Aurora. 53 just seems very small, I am 5 ft 10. Anyone care to comment? I would ppreciate it. Thanks

Here is the sizing below. The only real difference is the head angle? Also a guy at a bikeshop said a 55cm Jamis would be ok, but based on my IRo riding a little big I am unsure.

IRO Geometry (cm unless otherwise stated)

Size Seat Tube c-c Top Tube Standover Head Tube Head Angle Seat Angle
56 51.5 55 31.5" 10.5 72 73

Jamis
55 21.57/548 21.65/550 32.12/816 5.91/150 72 73

By way of reference, I am 5'6" -with 28"-29" inseam-and ride a 50cm Aurora comfortably. The seat is down almost all the way. It would seem at 5"10" that you would need a 55cm. Are there any you can try one to get a better idea?

measure: the Top tube. Center to Center, compare ..if tube slopes measure a horizontal line, as if.

not all 5' 10" people have the same leg length.

I'm conscious of that. That's why I wrote: "It would seem at 5"10" that you would need a 55cm". Just trying to give the OP a point of reference, is all.
