Katy Trail in Missouri
Just finished a week long ride on the Katy Trail in Missouri, posted on my blog with many photos. Thought I would share it here for anyone who is interested in riding that trail.

I took about a half dozen of the same photos last fall. In late October/early November, there was no need for air conditioning.

Went from Rocheport to Hartsburg and back one day last fall. I really enjoyed that ride. Will probably hit it all this year. You got some great pictures. Those grain bins are more than silos in many cases. They loaded grain cars on rail. That is what some people term a grain elevator, as they lifted or transferred grain to the grain cars on the tracks. I have a friend who got that tiled elevator pictured with the setting sun's glow around the upper part of the elevator/silo. Your picture reminded me of it. Great photography. Thanks.

Most excellent work. They're giving it two thumbs up. Makes me want to do it again, especially now that they've opened up that segment east of St. Charles. Did you see anywhere that one might leave a vehicle for a week in Machens?

robow, Parking at Machens
Robow, I have not been out to Machens yet, plan to this summer. It sounds as though the Machens trail head is in a pretty secluded area, it may be better to do an out and back from St. Charles, approx 12.5 miles one way. St. Charles would be a better place to leave your vehicle for a week, check with the police on where is best to leave it. Maybe someone that has ridden that part of the trail will chime in on parking at Machens, I am going by what I have read. You may look in on BikeKatyTrail. Can I say that?? Is that bad form or a no no???
