Awesome, I'm glad I found this post!
My friends and I are planning a credit card tour of the Oregon Coast. We're coming from Seattle and plan to hit Crescent City then take a bus/amtrak back to Seattle.
Should I pretty much follow the route posted on the Oregon.gov site? We're planning on doing 570 miles over 8 days and super psyched for it.

Good point DB - a great place.
The Otis Cafe is in Otis which is on Hwy 18 if you are coming to the coast from Salem or you can catch it if you do the Slab Creek Road alternate route on the Oregon Coast bike route guide before you get to Lincoln city. That route ads a few miles but the scenery is well worth it. The climbs are more gentle and some beautiful forests.
I've biked the coast twice with a 25 year gap and was able to dine at the Otis both times. Not much has changed since 1986. Still some of the biggest darned pancakes I've ever seen. One of the best cyclist refueling stops on the route.
