Wow ..... just last year they told me a 64cm LHT wasn't gonna happen.... glad things are always changing.

They're also adding the Ogre 29er in a 24" do it all frame.

Thanks for that. You can now get a LHT in disc or canti and 26" or 700c. Wow. That should start a few new threads. Talk about a lot of of options not only for the LHT but for all of their models as well. Moonlander or Pugsley? KM, Ogre or Troll?

What would the biking world be like if there wasn't Surly? I don't want to think about it.

OK, so next year's LHT is (or can be) a 26-inch, disc-brake-equipped dedicated touring bike for (I assume) around $1200? Shoot. That's exactly what I want. I hope I like that green color, I'd have hoped for something red.

I also don't know mountain bikes, but how is the Moonlander different from the Pugsley?

Yeah, the disc brake option means serious consideration for a LHT tourer now. The green to me is a plus since its a color not in my current line up :)

The Moonlander is I suppose a "mountain bike" since it sort of has MTB DNA but the Pugs, Mukluk's, Fatback's, and the Moonlander are classified as fat bikes using very large tires and rim combos to float up and over many obstacles a mountain bike can't. Snow, sand, mud, and certain fixed objects like roots, downed trees, etc. The Moonlander can accept newer 4.7 inch wide tires, has a frame designed with a rear 28mm offset for use with a 135mm hub and the chainstays designed for a special crank/BB that prevents tire and chain rub. Those large low pressure tires offer quite a bit of "suspension" while riding off road. I wasn't all that wild about them until I rode a few this spring and these bikes are for real but not a typical mountain bike. It's a whole different thing.

The Moonlander looks like a load of fun. I have absolutely no use for it, but I still want one. I got my GF a LHT for her last birthday. I am going to start dropping hints now for my birthday in March.

The specs are up for the 64cm. LHT . It looks like Surly has pulled a DOH! The 64cm. frame size uses the very same 390mm fork length as every other LHT. WTF? This means tall riders won't be able to raise the bars any higher than all the other sizes. Hopefully it's an error on their website, because this makes no sense.
