Are you familiar with the thestouringstore.com? They carry Tubus racks and Ortlieb and Lone Peak panniers. They have good prices. They also provide great service and stand behind their products.

Very good! I got my LHT in May and my other bike has languished.
Enjoy your new ride!

I saw their website. Lots of good info on the products. Not sure if I want a Ortlieb or Arkel handlebar bag. Thinking of Lone Peak panniers. (or Ortlieb!)

Congrats. I just got mine two weeks ago and absolutely love it. Where are you getting your Brooks from ? I am considering one as well, but most of the LBS i know of do not carry them.

Wallingford Bike Parts (wallbike.com) is a great place to get Brooks saddles from because they have a good stock and (more important) allow returns if you don't like the saddle. We've bought a number of Brooks saddles from Wallingford and have found them to be prompt, fair, and reliable.

I try to patronize my local bike shops, but for Brooks saddles we go Wallingford because of the return policy.

For the original poster, congrats on the new LHT. My wife loves hers and doesn't use her other bikes any more. Note that we did not have the bike shop cut the steering tube on the fork down, and she likes it uncut. So don't have it cut too low, or maybe even consider holding off cutting the fork until you find what works for you. You can always cut it later.

I'm prepping my shopping list, including an LHT and accessories. I'm curious, why are you selecting Tubus racks over the Surly racks?

I had Surly racks 5 years ago on my old LHT I sold. The rear rack is great. Very strong and adjustable. The front rack is a bit overkill.

Any bike store with a Quality Bike Products account should be able to get one. But returning it might be a different matter.

I always feel a tinge of jealousy when I run into someone with a new LHT.

cut the fork and installed the star nut Satuday at work. Off Monday and plan on building up the bike. Have to order the rear rack and decide on panniers next! Photos to come...

Here's mine all dressed up for a weekend camping trip on 8/27.

I have an Axiom Odysee rear rack and the Surly front rack. The front rack is overkill. I'm going to switch over to the Tubus Duo front and Tubus Cargo rear racks.

The LHT is a great bike and it's very versatile. I'm stripping lights, fenders, and racks off of it and putting wider tires on for a gravel race in November.
