Safety of hike and bike state parks from Morro Bay to Los Angeles?

    Are they safe these days?
I am about to pass through that area this week.
Has anyone experienced crazy hike-ins with knives, aggressive beggers, or shady violent people in the hike and bike camps between Morro Bay and Los Angeles?

Iv had no problems between LA and Morro Bay at hike and bike sites. My brother and I locked bikes up to the wood benches with a cable and u lock. Most of the time there are enough other tourers at the sites with you, that safety is better.

It's been awhile since I used those sites, but I see no reason to worry about it. You may get the occasional Cali Kook, but those sites are hardly overrun by speed freaks and the like.

I've never had any problems. My sense is that there's an increased risk of petty crime closer to the populated areas so I tend to be more security conscious the closer I get to LA.
