London to paris
Hi,
I'm considering to ride from London to Paris.
I find on the web few routes but i don't know if one of them fit to road bike?
And one more question, because my budget is pretty low i can't afford my self to sleep in hotels so i guess that my only option is camping site, there is camping sites near to this routes?
thank you all

Where are you from? Are you from Europe? If so, then you'd probably know that you can't ride on the main highways, you'll have to stick to the smaller roads ... and in France those are the N and D roads.
Approx. what route are you thinking of taking? Where are you planning to cross the channel?

I've made that trip by crossing from Newhaven to Dieppe.
In Dieppe there was a green bike path for the first stretch, can't remember how far.
There's a cheap municipal campsite at Forges-les-eaux which is 52 km from Dieppe and 113km to Paris (google maps).

The avenue verte
Now, thanks to you, i decided to take the "avenue verte", and to take the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe.

Check a map of Dieppe to find where the Avenue Verte starts.
From wiki:
Directions: Leaving the ferry terminal at Dieppe, head towards the town centre. At the harbour bridge you will see signs for Avenue Verte and D1.

By "most", I mean perhaps 80%. Look at the route detail with Google Maps and Street View. Even some sections highlighted as blue "bike path" at the AV site are in fact roads. Some of the sections that are truly bike path are paved and look nice, some are rutted single track that would be hard to manage on a loaded touring bike. I would avoid some of the path sections in favor of a lower-traffic smooth road. In fact, due to the circuitous route of the AV necessary to utilize existing bike paths, it might make more sense to simply route using Google Maps with the bicycling option tab selected.
