Looking for suggestions for 1 or 2 night winter tour from Boulder area
Last year, I rode up to Rocky Mountain National Park in early January and stayed one night in a tent. I might do that again, but would like to hear other ideas.
Another idea I'm considering is State Forest State Park. I'd arrive the second day and have my wife and kids meet me there. We'd stay there one night in one of their cabins and we'd all go home in the car.
Similarly, I could go to Golden Gate Canyon State park, stopping the first night somewhere on the Peak to Peak highway (riding up Left Hand Canyon or Rt 7), although I'm not sure where I would camp.
50 miles/day is probably the upper limit of what I am willing to do (unless it is flat or downhill). Dates are somewhat flexible (so I can avoid bitter cold days).
