Deal on 2010 Jamis Aurora
Hey everyone, first time poster. If there is anyone else out there like me, who is trolling the internet looking for touring bikes to buy on clearance during the winter, this may help. I have been looking at bikes for months. Test road a bunch. I finally settled on the Jamis Aurora. It fit. Didn't like the toe overlap, but found a price I could not let go. So I got one for me and one for my wife. Here is the deal:
2010 Jamis Aurora: $720 shipped from bicyclebananas.com
I am not affiliated with them at all. But the price is by far the lowest I could find on the net if you're interested in the bike and it fits. Seemed like pretty good service so far, although I'm still waiting for the bike in transit.
Now I'm selling my tiagra sti brifters and cross levers, installing tektro rl520 levers, dura ace 9 speed bar end shifters, and avid sd5 v brakes. Hopefully the proceeds from the brifters will more than cover the additional parts. But at this price who cares!
They also have a decent price on the LHT I think.
Hope this helped somebody..

I picked up a 2009 Aurora from them last winter for around $650 shipped. They built the bike up to check it over, before a bit of dis-assembly to repack for final shipment. Nice bike that took me until about 2 weeks ago to finally buy and install a slightly shorter stem. I found there shipping and service to be very good.

Other bikes in that price range include the Windsor Tourist from Bikes Direst at $599 including S&H, and the Nashbar 105-equipped touring bike for about $604 + S&H. I came close to buying the 2009 Aurora from them, but went for a cyclocross bike from another dealer instead (I have a few nice older touring bikes that I decided to stick with). I found the folks at BB pretty friendly and very helpful when I called them. Guess it's better to call them than e-mail them when it's time to make a purchase.
