Winter tour from Minnesota?

Okay, I got here from AZ by bike a year ago, and I'm durn near sick of this place. I'm thinking of leaving at the end of the year and riding along the Mississippi and then to Texas and Mexico before returning to AZ. I know it's a little crazy, but I'm pretty seasoned at this point so it shouldn't be a problem. Just wondering what sort of winter stuff I should pack. If ya'll are interested, I could post my log, too. Nobody took me up on it the last time I rode across the country, but who knows?

From what I've heard on the winter cycling forum, you ought to take Nokia tires. Until Missouri anyway. Yes on the log.
