That King of Mercia sure is nice! It seems like there are about 4 different tourers I'd love to have at this price range, so if my bicycle savings account ever swells that big, I'm gonna have a TOUGH time making a decision.

True it is nice, but for really heavy loads look at the top "Vincetore" model which has elongated lugs on the B/B shell to aid rigidity and is really stable.I toured on mine for 18 years and have just sold it and my Carlton in order to buy a new-fangled Thorn Raven with a Rohloff hub---another bike to look at as a heavy-duty touring machine.
