old fashion bell hunt.
I'm in search of an old fashion bell one that has a nice sounding ring
ok i don't have a fortune to spend i know these bells can get quiet expensive always someone out there to rip you off.
anyhow anybody got any ideas as to where i could start looking or better still anyone got one thats willing to part with it only problem i live in ireland well not a problem for me i love the place
anyway a link to a site would be a start thanks all.

Dutch Bike Bits... I live in the US and buy stuff from him, even with the shipping I still come out ahead of the game.
I have a bell similar to the big Widek on two of my Raleigh's no clue what brand one of them is the other is a vintage Lucas.

How about SJS Cycles? I buy from them too. My Lucas Bell came from UK Ebay a while back. I had it shipped to my son in Leeds and he brought it home in his luggage. I don't have that luxury anymore, he is back in the States now.

I actually bought the Crane Bell that you both just listed first. Then my local bicycle shop started stocking the Crane bell that has that old fashioned "Cha Ching" sound to it. I had to buy it........Its the Riten Bell by Crane.

that's the bell. Loud, good tone and sustaining ring. Shops stock the Incredibell and a bunch of smaller brass bells but that's the one to get. Every time I've been in a shop and see one I get it.

You're quite welcome! It comes in at least one other style (a beehive IIRC, and I want to say another I don't recall). I like that the clapper creates a single "ding" as I can choose to let out one ringing chime that penetrates a bit, or quickly tap it twice (quite easy) for a cheery "hello" or in the place of an "an your left".
