I remember reading something once, or hearing it (I'm paraphrasing here):

An indian chief saw a horse wander into camp. The tribe all cried "how lucky."
"Well, maybe," the chief replied.
His son took the horse and rode it, but the horse threw the son and he broke his arm, meaning he could no longer ride.
"How unlucky," the tribe all cried.
"Well, maybe," the chief replied.
The next day, while out hunting, the chief and the braves got lost and soon were out of water, but the new horse lead them to water.
"How lucky," the braves called, drinking the water.
"Well maybe, the chief replied.
That night, all the braves were sick - the water had been infected.
"How unlucky," the braves said.
"Well, maybe," the chief replied.
When the braves returned to camp, they heard that there had been a big battle, which they had missed, and many braves from a neighbouring camp had been killed.
"You missed it", the wives and mothers called. "How lucky."
"Well, maybe," the chief replied.
And so on.

As bad as it seems, maybe the crash and the delay have saved you something worse.

All the best. Hope you recover soon. I'm sure your tour will be all the sweeter for the delay.
