New commuter and light mods for new handlebar bag.

I just recently picked up a new commuter / rando rig. I had my Dinotte perched on the bars and it was fine, until I started missing my handlebar bag. My $20 special from Performance croaked.

Off I went to LBS with bike to look for replacement. Was looking at the suggested bags, the JANDD IV, ortlieb, etc. Ended up with a foam shell topeak. Just the right size once you remove the padded liner.

Got it home and took it apart - obvious thing to do with a new bag right?! The aim was to add some brackets made out of aluminium stock in order to attach the light. I cut them, bent, drilled and painted. Put them in between the bag and bracket.

Under these I ziptied a 1/2" diameter length of PVC pipe (I sprayed this black too).

It was easy then to attach my headlight!

On top of the bag I can use clips for q sheets for rando, or velcro straps for my jawbone jambox when commuting!

And it all stood up to a rather bumpy 100k today! Shame I can't say the same about my poor rack.

A rattle started bugging me about 20miles from home. Couldn't figure it out. The rack had started to come apart..
