Good day
First post in this area, I use my bike mostly for commuting but have wanted to tour my entire life, it is on my short list.

I am in the middle of making a large bag for my Blackburn EX rack. This bag will have a matching set of paniers soon. I would like to build the bag with an integral method of atachment to the rack. Wondering in anyone has any suggestions. I would like something more elegant than 2 bungee cords over the top (what I have now.)

The standard method of some velcro patches on the bag and corresponding straps sewn to various points on its perimeter seems to work well. Some form of stiffener so the bag keeps its shape even when empty or only partly filled also helps.

Rixen and Kaul mounts are used by lots of bag manufacturers. They do a racktop mounting system.
Correx is the best material to use for creating a box. You can rivet the corners and the base/carrier mount. You can cover correx with a fabric is you prefer in the manner of carradice barbags.

Ortlieb back roller, and their rack pack duffle, side opening dry bag,
snap, together when top bag is crossways.
just add a strap around the rack and bag running lengthways.

So we have a prototype I will run with this week. I did the bag a bit different, sort of like a top load backpack. I gave the straps holding the top on enough length to wrap around the rack and clip into the lid. A ride around the block showed ne shifting, we'll see tomorrow.
