road rage law in San Francisco benefits cyclists

Just saw this on today's news. You can now sue over a road rage incident with an automobile and you will win, at least in SF.
I figure you can always sue but now its on the books in SF in the cyclist's favor. Hope if catches on, on the rest of the country.

Seems like commen sense doesn't it?

It was actually Sunnyvale, CA not San Francisco that just passed a bicyclist anti-harassment ordinance. For the geographically challenged, Sunnyvale is 40 miles south of SF, down there by San Jose.

Did they model it after the one that passed in L.A. last year. IIRC, that one gives a cyclist damages of at least $1000 plus lawyer's fees. If such a law ever came into being in OR, I could stop working and be a "professional" cyclist while keeping a team of lawyers on retainer, at least until the haters either got smarter or improved their aim.
