Slideshow: bike tour of Alaska

I recently returned from a north to south tour of Alaska on a route we titled "Black Artery of Alaska" because our line followed the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

Some pretty incredible scenery and wildlife! How big was the actual pipe? I've always pictured it in my mind as massive, but it seems comparatively small in a couple of your photos.
