Great Touring Photos

Here's a web site I just found that has fantastic cycle tour photos. It's called "Impressions from Bicycle Travels"
I think that you will enjoy it.

Incredible pictures...You both have hit an all time high for adventure...I went on a guided tour or Sulewesi ( Manado) , Indonesia on a dive trip..Incredible scenery.Think you were entirely on Sumatra.. The people we met were great...
But the traffic on those mountain passes..You both have nerves of steel..We agree..Lots of abandoned, burned out cars following crashes..Just on the way side..Wondered about cycling the same terrain while there..
I know you had your shots...The bugs flying about was intense.

There was a style of outdoor images that were frequently in the National Geogrpahic in the 50s and early 60s nicknamed the "red shirt school of photography." Bob and Ira Spring were big on putting people wearing red in their outdoor pictures.

Yep. That site was just what I needed in the middle of winter. I wish they sold a calendar or some posters. I have some of their shots on my desktop now.

I kept trying to recall where I had seen the red theme before and that was it!
Didn't Ira Spring die recently?

A Google search revealed that Ira Spring died in June 2003, but Bob was still kicking as of then.
