Eh, your Boston family didn't have anything to worry about. I don't know why they shut down the city for some moderate drizzle and light winds.

I live inland in NC so we dodged this one. I have a son in Boston that is headed for work this morning so they apparently are doing fine. I have a buddy in Elizabeth City, NJ. They are without power and expect to be for at least a week, but he has plenty of battery lanterns, gas stove, etc. Haven't heard from our friends in Brooklyn yet. But seeing how he is a former Navy Seal I suspect they will be fine.

We got relatively lucky in Philly. With a storm like this, the heaviest rain is south of the eye. The strongest winds off the northeast edge. Because of the track, we didn't get either. The eye pretty much moved right over us, so areas to the south got much more rain. Areas to the north got much stronger winds for a longer period of time. The storm sped up during the afternoon, which also helped. My power went out and then came back on before I could grab the flashlight that was five feet away.
