Often switch back and forth between B17 and Specialized Avatar. Different saddles for different styles of riding. Both are my favorite. And it's not enough just to replace the saddle, often you would need a seatpost with some setback, to avoid sitting on the metal frame of the Brooks saddle.

My B17 made my ding-ding numb pretty much as soon as I broke it in. The only way I could make the numbness stop was by sitting on the metal frame, which was no bueno even with padded shorts. Now I ride WTB Speed V comp saddles on my mountain bikes and touring bikes, and couldn't be happier, though it takes a bit of work to dial in.

I use almost the same position on my touring bike as I do on my road bikes. Since I'd found a good saddle for my road bikes, I put it on our touring bike (tandem), too. It's a Performance Forte Classic. About the same as a Terry Fly, but better made and a slightly better shape. It only comes in one width, which happens to be my width.
