LHT or CC, with fatter tires, fenders, AND A kickstand clearance

hey, guys.
This is rather specific but I'm hoping there's someone out there who can confirm that this set up is possible. Does anybody have a Long Haul Trucker or Cross Check with fatter tires, 700x32 and above, fenders, AND a kickstand? I have everything on my CC, except the kickstand and I'm wondering if the cover plate will clear? It looks a little tight. I included some pictures. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=315533

After looking at the picture more carefully, I realized the tire size and fenders do not factor into the clearance. Anyway, the cover plate's dimensions are 62x30x14mm.

QBP didnt want Kickstsnds , so no mounting plate..

You might think about the back of the rear triangle mount instead.
if there are no disc brakes there..

You may want to consider a Click-stand instead. Does a good job of supporting a fully-loaded bike. I've had no issues with it, and I don't have to worry about having room with fenders mounted.

You do want to read the rant on Surly's website about kickstands before you do something that might damage your frame: http://surlybikes.com/info_hole/spew..._haul_truckers

yep, it's a risk I'm willing to take. They didn't say they hate kickstands, just a warning to be careful with them. Only the Pletscher models are available in Korea. I ordered it. I'll make it work or be out $20. :thumb:

I found this sometime back, but never made one. Congrats to whomever for a good design.

I hear that some folks have to file notches in the clamps of kickstands, to make room for cable passage in tight-fitting areas. If the Pletscher doesn't work for you, you may want to get something like the click-stand to keep your bicycle in the (semi) vertical position.

dude! the Greenfield kickstand guys make a "Retro-Kit" kickstand top plate to mount with front derailleur cable clearances and relatively tight frames. It costs the same as the regular greenfield kickstand if you get it ordered it with the retrokit plate, your local bike shop might have some greenfield retrofit kit kickstands or top plates laying around

i use one on my crosscheck, and have used them for other bikes with similar tight clearances and front derailleur cable issues.
