Oregon & Northern Calilfornia Coast Hammock w/tarp or Tarp & Bivy
Very soon I will be cycling the Oregon Coast. July 28 to be exact. So I have two options with my gear.
Tarp & bivy
or
Tarp & hammock
Any trees in the hiker/biker sites along the coast? Prefer the comfort of the hammock but I often cycle well after dark & hate looking for trees.
The plus with the bivy & tarp is that it is super light & compact. Love to hear your opinions!

A bivy gonna leave you drenched in condensation, get a tarp that covers properly and ditch the bivy weight. I wouldn't use a hammock because I don't sleep on my back, and rarely camp in places where I could tie one up. Either way, hammock lovers are cult in their love of hammocks. Make sure you've got a proper insulated pad or underquilt.

Quite a few of the Hike&Bike sites that I've stayed at do have enough trees, but I remember a few that didn't. And if you're planning on arriving late then your options might be limited by where others have already set up their campsites. The campgrounds are really more set up for tents or tarp/bivy arrangements rather than hammocks.
