Request for advice on buying touring bicycle
Hello fellow cyclists!
I want to buy a new touring bike, however, I have had no success so far in finding one. I know what I am looking for but I cannot find one which fulfills all the following criteria:
- price range up to 1400 EUR (1800 USD);
- steel or aluminium (double or triple butted);
- shimano deore xt components (lx is fine too);
- at least 26 small chainring;
- rigid fork (no suspension);
- regular or butterfly handlebar (no bull horns);
- cantilever brakes (no disc brakes);
I would really appreciate your help/advice on this.
Thanks in advance,
Lavdim

Lavdim, Because this forum is primarily populated by N. Americans, we don't know of the many Euro-market only bicycle choices that you have available to you. I think it'll be difficult to find an off the shelf touring bike that fits your criteria so be prepared to substitute items that you prefer, which is common practice here.

Over several years, all that's original on my stock DF is the frame. Experience and wear led to total component changes.

Take a look at the Thorn Club Tour - it looks like a close fit!

Trek ships Bikes into the European Market , 520 is their touring specialty model.
May have to travel to UK Germany Or maybe the Greek shops to find any, seek out shops on the web to ask
With the search function ..
a MTB can function well on tours .. Hardtails.. don't need suspension forks, either, really..
