Hey Tour Forum:
I'm riding a nice Felt bike now, and will be using it for a supported tour this summer. After years of strapping tent/sleeping bag/gear over the rear rack with ropes and bungie cords, along with panniers, it will be a hoot to be able to day ride between camps with just a water bottle, snacks, sunscreen and such.
The Felt Does not have braze-ons for a rear rack. I wouldn't mind having a rear trunk to carry necessities, and an extra shirt or to stow the windbreaker after it comes off.
Can anyone suggest a decent seat-post rack, dependable enough to not swing around, and sturdy enough to hold my Jannd trunk? Or should I just use a seat post rack plus a couple bungie cords and leave the trunk at home?
I will likely get a small handle bar pack for maps.
Or would a seat 'wedge' be fine? (never used one)
I will be partnering with someone who may have a rear rack..
Just fishing around for other biker's touring gear experience. Thanks!
Mark

Check out www.wallbike.com. They have a really nice Berthoud bag and seatpost rack.
