... actually, there is a serious message in that anecdote. While journalists should rightly weigh every single word for its value, they cannot invariably expect that care to come across to their audiences. Because of the latter effect, many journalists get sloppy or arrogant. They think unreliable reading provides an excuse for unreliable or over-simplified writing.

(Waaaaaaaaay off topic... )

Back on topic, I have added a section for bikepacking overnighters: https://trails-tours.com/overnighters/

One-night camping trips are one of the real perks when you have a good, simple and light bikepacking kit. You can spontaneously turn a weekend into a miniature vacation that puts some real space between you and the rat race.

Blogger is what I know. It's pretty straightforward but they keep making changes. Have had spammer problems in the past but I'm prepared for that.

Sorry. Should have quoted you here. This is so disconnected from what I was replying to it might not make too much sense.

You need to keep an eye on the spam folder. Legit posters who just happen to cite a business or business-like url can end up there. Every now and again, a good comment can get lost that way.

Hey! Guess what? I managed to change the preference to anyone. You shouldn't have to use an external account to comment now.

Good idea, Pico.

I do it the exact same way. Don't forget that many people don't wish to use social networks and don't have an OpenID either.

@jack: I wrote you an email in response to your PM. Seems I haven't yet posted sufficiently to use the PM function here.

A quick update: I posted the 200th article on Trails and Tours this morning. In all, there are links to about 650 external resources. I hope to fill the more blatant of the remaining topical gaps by March to ensure a fairly comprehensive site by the time the (northern hemisphere) season gets going.
