Perhaps this particular book is one of the few eligible for lending and IAMAMRA was, in fact, asking for someone to lend him the book rather than send him a pirated copy. If so, I apologize.

I own 266 Kindle eBooks and have yet to find one that was eligible for lending...

the last 5 books I've bought that where not for classes are all loan-able including the one in question in this thread.

If this book is available to loan I would appreciate it if someone would loan it to me. I leave for a 5 day vacation this weekend and could use some new material. I have a bunch of kindle books as well. How do I check if they're loanable or not? I may have something of interest that someone would like.

I wanted to like this but it was too much religion for me. I gave up on it after about 7 chapters.
I agree with this review 100%
Way too much religion, not enough about cycling, September 4, 2013 By
Straz85
This review is from: Biking Across America: My Coast-to-Coast Adventure and the People I Met Along the Way (Paperback)
I bought this book because I'm an avid cyclist who dreams of being able to do a ride across the US. I was hoping to hear a lot about his actual journey. The training and planning that went into it, details about his ride as well as people he met and experiences he had. Instead, it's constant mentions of God's plan for him. At one point he says the Holy Spirit made him talk to the guy in at the table next to him in a restaurant. If you want to write a book involving this much religion that's fine, but make it clear to people before they buy the book. One more complaint. The book is redundant. Everyday is the same thing. Ride 80 or 100 miles, stop at a hotel, soak in a tub, go get good, start again the next day. I want to hear more than that.

I checked my library more closely: it turns out I do have 12-15 books that are eligible for lending. Anything recent/popular seems to be ineligible, however. The titles that are eligible, for me, are all older/cheaper or self-published books.

Riding like its 1990
I got it free, enjoying it now.
The author is a Mennonite man on a 5,000 mile cross country solo credit card touring adventure. Yes, his Christian world views and his spiritual journey are prevalent. As a man of faith I enjoy it but I also do agree that as a cyclist I'd like to have rundowns of the bike, gear, tips and tricks that worked for him etc.
Easy simple read and I'm planning on short touring of my own (with small kids wife and job its tough).
Remember that while interesting to a small minority of oddballs (us) a book written entirely about the nuances of packing bags, choosing gear, changing flats and shifting for hills would be barely readable. The scenery, interactions with other people and retelling of old adventures and memories is what makes it come to life.

and I mention meeting Paul at Cooks Station although I didn't get his picture.
