That is a beautiful bike Anto. Should ride great and provide you with many happy miles of riding. Can't wait to hear a ride report from you.

Well still havent got a really good testing spin as yet,I had planned to do a 50miler today but the weather is terrible, rain rain and more rain.i still need to change the brake calipers, the campag i have on are to short need 57mm drop which will allow me to fit mudguards and rear rack hopefully then i will be set to tour.
i will be keeping my load as light as i can possibly get it, rear ortlieb classic panniers only maybe a small barbag so my packing lise will have to be well thought out .i wont be touring for more than a week at a time and plenty of overnighters come the summer so thats the reason i went for the Thorn Audax it should be well capable of carrying my load.
Anto.

these dont need much clearance Crud Road Racer MK2 Mudguard Set - £29.99

extrawheel Bike trailers - Extrawheel.com with another road front wheel and you wont even need to fit racks
cope with short chain-stays , and potentially kick the bags while you pedal..

1 pair of lighter Plus fabric Ortliebs will snap right on. ..

i have the mudguards, don't like trailers have to settle for what i have,as i said when i buy the new brake calipers i can then completly finish the build.when i sold all my gear last summer part of the deal was ortlieb bikepacker plus rear panniers there were not any lighter than what i have now.
so has ortlieb new lighter panniers for this year.?

the Cordura Plus is lighter than the PVC Classic stuff , and the F/R roller is simpler than the Bikepacker/Sportpacker so lighter .

maybe the Tubus extension kit for Disc brakes https://www.tubus.com/product.php?xn=35

added to their Titanium tubus - Logo Titan

rack would move the rack back far enough and the bags back further in the rack ..

(I have the steel LoGo & PVC roller bags) ..

Nice Couch ..
