General Delivery @ Post Office
We are currently on tour and riding across Montana. Had a one things sent to the main PO in Helena. Well I called while on the road yesterday, Friday, and asked about Saturday hours and found out they closed @ Noon. When I told themwe were cycling across the country and could not make it by closing time they said " No problem". Just call when you are outside the building and Bonnie will open up and get your package for you.
Wow!! What customer service. But the I have found the folks so friendly out here.

It's hard to beat the USPS for service. I ship twenty packages and receive twice that number each week, almost all USPS and am thrilled with their speed and service.

I have had a similar experience when backpacking, they went in and got my package on a Sunday. It was one of those post offices that are a room in a general store.
On the TA, we were chatting with the lifeguard at the town pool and she mentioned that our next day went a long way with no water. She said that the next tiny town had no water despite having a fru fru store and a post office. She mentioned that she was the postmaster there and we could stop and she would share her water with us. We stopped in and she filled our bottles and gave us a nice talk about the area. You meet some really nice people when touring.
