Anyone ridden to Bormio in April?

I'm planning a bike tour in Italy for next April and have found a bike path up to Bormio, a common starting place for the big alpine passes like the Stelvio. I don't intend to ride up those, I'm just looking for interesting places to ride a bike.

Since April is a bit early in the year for biking around ski resorts, I was wondering if anyone here has ridden or even been to Bormio in April. I've checked some weather sites and it appears that April in cold in Bormio (high in the high 30s). So, it may not be appropriate for bicycling.

To kind of go around your question . . . I have been to Bormio many times over the years on self contained tours, though always late in the season (September) not early as you describe. Not sure what type of riding you are considering, but I'll note that Bormio itself is not much for what we'd consider "riding around." Roads go up immediately at the city limits: north to the Foscagno towards Livigno, east to the Stelvio and south east to the Gavia. Traffic in town is busy. Not hostile, just busy. Bormio is a great way station on a tour of the big passes of Lombardia. I'd recommend the Hotel Vallecetta. The family has been most welcoming to me over the years.

I don't want to go to the big passes, this being April and all. But, I though the ride up to Bormio would be a pretty one to do. Since it is an up and back, it is strictly something to do if I have an extra day. If the weather is good, it might even be a nice place to spend a rest day.

Have you ever ridden over the Aprico Pass between Edolo and Tirana? That is the one I was thinking of riding to get from East to West.
