Keirin Valve to Presta Converter?

There are second-hand x-pro use Soyo Keirin tubular (seamless) tires going cheap on the equivalent of ebay Japan from time to time. They are almost unworn since the Keirin governing body says that tyres can only be used a few times. They are very light cotton and allow very high pressure. I bought two on impulse before realising that they have super Dunlop / Woods valves and I have deep rims requiring Presta valve extenders.

There are woods to Presta converters available here in Japan but they go inside the valve and the bits inside these Keirin valves look smaller than than usual and I am not sure that one could pump the tires up. I think that the converter would need to go on the outside of the valve like a cap.

If you are in Japan these are easy to find as they come along with many low-priced pumps. It's a kind of spring-loaded clip deal.

The extender is not for my pump so much as for my rims. "I have deep rims requiring Presta valve extenders."

Fortunately, one blogger reports that a normal hat type valve extender (rather than the sort that screws inside the presta valve instead of the valve ) can be used with plumbers tape on the outside of the Keirin

I bought the cheapest valve extender on aliexpress,

which turns out to be a rip off because it does not have an internal screw thread and is just for looks, and intend to give it a screw thread using a tap and die set.

However, the same blogger above reports that these Keirin tires are so light and thin that don't last long on the roads.

I thought it would be okay as a spare to get home after a puncture like a spare car tire

Really Scion? A near canary yellow spare tire? #Fail

The same lady is offering another current at about 3USD but she does not ship abroad.

I'm confused. If you're using rims made for Presta valve, what do you plan to do about the fact that Woods valves are a larger diameter?

Also don't forget that the valve core retainer cap is yet an even larger diameter. BITD I was using some woods valve tubes with rims drilled for Shrader. But to do so, I had to install the tube without the valve in, then attach the valve when finished.

But if you have deep rims, that option is off the table.

Yeah, these are definitely NOT road tires! They are very light (under 200g), old-school cotton tubulars, with uncoated sidewalls. They are quite fragile and will not withstand much road use. However they are great, lively feeling track racing tires, and take-offs are cheap enough to justify their use as track trainers.

The valves are not quite woods, but keirin which is a slender version of woods, and they appear to be thin enough to fit into the holes in my rims and indeed be extended with a presta vale extender. I would envisage removing the woods valve core and using a presta valve in the extender as in the blog photo here

But anyway as Baby Puke says, they are not roads tires. I may try and sell them on ebay.
