Could this frame have set a record?
[I bumped a thread with this query on the SSFG Forum, and then it occured to me that, Hey, I finally have something to post about in the real Track forum, and that it's real trackies that might know the answer to this.]
I bought this frame off of eBay:
https://www.lowestgear.com/e/frame_p_track01.jpg
and it has these decals:
There were some weird things about the listing (it was listed as a "Pyramid" frame, I've since determined that it's a "Porter," made by Dave Porter of New Mexico [thanks to Don Walker for helping me figure that out]). In conversations with the eBay seller, he says that the frame used to belong to John Frey, and I was just pipedreaming that MAYBE he set a record with this frame, but then I was like, Nah, it's drilled for brakes, and then I read in another thread that Frey was known for running brakes on his competition bikes. Hmm.
I emailed Dave Porter, so maybe we'll see, but any input anyone has would be really appreciated.

Frames don't set records. Riders set records.
Having said that, the tradition with decals of that nature is that if ANY rider sets a particular record riding a particular frame, the BUILDER puts the decals on all his frames built afterwards. For example, if you check any Lemond bike you'll find WC rainbow decals.
