getting started for pursuit training

hey, new to track specific racing.....been riding and street racing on a track bike for a few years, but want to see how i can handle myself in an enclosed competitive evirornment i.e. the velodrome, so what gear would you reccomend for this event, training, intervals, distance, weights, etc....i havent a clue so any advice would be greatly appreciated

Juniors max gear is 48x16. I found this was a good gear to start with.
