Lygie Track Bike Build
I thought I would share some pictures of my most recent build project. I am getting quite a bit of help from a friend, so most of the credit goes to him. However, I thought some might like to see the bike as the process goes on. We believe the frame is a 1970 Lygie. It was found on ebay and didn't appear to be in very good shape . . . aesthetically at least. From the pictures you can see there was quite a bit of rust in the chrome. We took a chance that the rust was purely superficial and only affecting the chrome that had been added probably years after being made. We were lucky and found that the tubes were not affected by the rust one bit. I worked on removing the rust myself for a while, but became very busy at work and couldn't get much more done. My friend then took the frame and has been working on it. I was at his house a few days ago and noticed some blue paint on his grass I asked if he got more done on the bike, he smiled and asked if I wanted to see it. He just got the clear coat on it so I couldn't touch it or anything. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I don't have any pictures of it yet, but will add them soon. I was completely shocked at how great it looked! Now for the rest of the bike. Most of the parts were ordered from the bike shop, but I did find some parts on ebay that I will list as well. Let me know what you think. This bike is being built for the least amount of money possible because I have never raced track before and am just getting started. I will post new pictures as I take them. Hope you enjoy!

Here's the bike so far. I am currently cleaning the glue off an old pair of Campy tubular rims to lace to the Dura Ace hubs I have. And no, I don't really care that I am mixing Campy and DA The bike has turned out great. The photos don't really do it justice. I can't believe the bike I have setting here is the same thing I received from the ebay sale. I mean, just look at the difference in pictures from the original condition to now! Unbelievable. My friend prepped it and painted it for me and it is truly amazing. When the wheels are done I will add a pic of them as well. I will use Tufo Elite Road Clinchers 700 x 23. Obviously the hand brake will come off for races . . . once I get the nerve to give it a crack. Wheels first though. More pics soon.

i'm pretty sure that is total nonsense. dura-ace and suntour are the same taper. oh. wait. i get it. the new dura ace cranks are octalink, but that's obvious? suntour is not the same as campy.

Suntour is ISO tapper********************???? weird stuff anyways... Shimano used to make ISO tapper BBs long time ago anyways but i never heard about suntour doing them. The only thing I can tell about suntour is that theirs crancks are really good stuff...
