Kingspeed frames NJS?
I was just wondering if anybody knows much about Kingspeed frames? Are they NJS cert.? Good quality? Expensive?
I might be getting a vintage Kingspeed frame, just wanted to get some more info before finalizing it.

Are you planning on racing Japanese Keirin? Why do you want to get NJS? Just curious.

I don't plan on doing any competitive racing (the certification really isn't much of my concern). I've only seen a few of these frames and they are usually classified as NJS frames.
I really just want some general feedback about the quality, background etc.
It's a beautiful frame, so I might end up with it regardless.

You don't need to ride keirin to get a NJS frame. Why get a full Italian frame with all Italian parts? because I like to have one.
It used to be that when got a frame you matched it up with correct parts.
example DeRosa SL frame with full C-record, Vittoria CX and CG tires, Cinelli bar and stem, Bike Ribbon tape, Regina chain etc.
Anyway , NJS bikes are nice and made the old way, by humans.

I agree Ceya, it is nice to match up parts. Makes the bike aesthetically pleasing to me. So of course its all preference. Each to his own. In my perception only, NJS means sub optimum, limited by the NJS standard. I'm all for handmade though. So it's only my own preference to European and Western handbuilt frames that I question the desire for NJS. Its all good...when its good quality.

NJS is only limited due to keirin racing not what the builders do with the frame.
The builders are the only ones still building like it was in the 80s and still put out modern carbon fiber and Ti frames.
In Europe it is not happening and here it is still here due to track/fixed phase we have now. Guys like Don Walker, Richard Sachs, Johnny Coast, Jonny Cycles etc we are still doing the same thing here as in Japan.
