It seems like a good bike if you're number top priorities are having a bike which is steel and features trend-approved "track geometry." The group buy price seems right, but I wouldn't pay retail for one of these.

+1, retail is a little steep. I'm glad I got mine through the tarck GB.
I'd say get aluminum if you plan on staying with track for awhile. Stiffness that you can grow into... Aliens are not very hard to flex in a sprint.
