I am planning on riding the beginners class on the 23 in Indianapolis. Is there anything specific I should do or be prepared for before I go? I called the other day to ask about the class but the guy pretty much just told me to show up without much more information, not that he was being a jerk but I didn't know what to ask and he didn't know what to say I guess. I also don't have a proper track bike yet so I was thinking about just taking some pedals and using one of their rentals, is this a bad idea? Last question, I have a chance to buy a nice Serotta frame in my size for 500 with all the go-fast parts (I know a former shop owner/track team sponser with a whole room full of top of the line equipment) for something like the beginners class? Sorry for all the questions I know they get asked time and time again but I am just looking for some information.
Just show up and don't worry. They'll instruct you in everything you need to know and it's time consuming going over the same stuff with everyone who phones to book a session - especially when it's all got to be repeated anyway at track time.
There is nothing specific that you need to know before the class other than relax, don't take it too seriously and have fun.
Yes take your pedals along and use a rental. Save the fancy Serotta for if you decide that the track is for you.
