i can't see how it would be a bad frame. i was looking at it and giant made mention of compact geometry which made me curious how compact geo. would work on a velodrome, if there would be any sort of differences in handly or anything.

When he was still on T-mobile and before Giant started building their carbon track frame Erik Zabel won a couple six day races on the omnium frame so that's good enough for me. Spuik/Kuips has been making compact track frames as well that were ridden to numerous wins by Juan Llaneras and the late Isaac Galvez.

In my opinion the whole compact thing has nothing to do with performance and everything to do with bike fit and offering less sizes. With track frames generally having lower headtubes and standover it really doesn't seem to be a factor so most companies have stuck with a non sloping top tube. Afterall... it does look better.

thats a good point braden. i have to agree with you, the non sloping does look better. i just never took into consideration the idea of compact geometry. the frame is sweet and i'll probably be ordering for next season but i was just wondering about it, and also wanted to spark a little convo.
