bianchi pista and velodrome

i heard that velodromes do not allow bianchi pistas to race because the pista's bottom bracket clearance is not high enough.

is that true?
cause ive always thought that the pistas had that "true track geometry"

Ive never heard of that being a problem. They let me take mine on the Superdrome
in Frisco, TX and the turns slope at 44 degrees.

The Pista were once the rental bikes at the local velodrome (Bloomer) and that is 44 degrees in the corners. They sold them on CL and Ebay last year to make way for a new rental fleet, but I don't know what they replaced them with.

I've seen them ridden and raced at all the velodromes in SoCal: ADT, Encino, and San Diego.

In general, you're responsible for your own equipment selections and for riding it in a safe way appropriate to the equipment and type of race or training session.

Half of Hellyer's rental bikes are pistas, and plenty of people race them at Northbrook and Kenosha velodromes.

They don't get much steeper than ADT or Bloomer Park, and the Pista is fine on those. IIRC the rental bikes at Forest City didn't have particularly high bottom brackets and that's 50 degrees. I rode a rental there and didn't die.

People ride all sorts of geometries at ADT, and all sorts of crank lengths, including a few on 180s. As long as you don't go too slow and slide down it doesn't really matter much.

where are all these "is this bike allowed on a track" threads coming from recently. The pista is the same ****ing geometry as the concept. Are we next going to be hearing how concepts aren't real track bikes they're just for tricks and not allowed on most tracks?

The Bianchi Pista has a 50mm BB drop measured as the distance below a horizontal line drawn between the rear and front wheel drop outs. I would think this would be about standard for a track bike

The Superdrome has a container box full of GTs. I would imagine when its time to get rid of one, its
because one needs to be thrown in the trash.

It shouldn't matter what the angle of the track is. You're 'sposed to be going quick enough to be perpendicular to it, all the way around.

at speed you should be perpendicular or close to it in the corners
