Mounting a Pletscher kickstand on crosscheck

I recently bought a pletscher kickstand to use on my Surly Crosscheck that I set up for touring. However, the cables for both deraillers get in way. Also the bolt is devilishly hard to tighten because the downtube gets in the way of the allen wrench. Has anyone had luck mounting one of these bad boys?

from your post history, its seems like you are perfectly capable of asking a question like this in the mechanics forum
what gives?
