Newbe question about Cannondale Major Taylor…
Ok I would like to start track riding racing when the season starts up again. And I’m looking for a good bike. I’m 6ft and 195lbs so I think I would need a “stiff” frame. And as I know nothing about track, I was eying the Cannondale Major Taylor. Big tubing dura ace cranks…looks stout to me. But has anyone ridden one? And the Specialized Langster Pro, Fuji Track Pro or the Felt track bikes. Would they be a better choice?

at 6'5" and 200lbs. I went with the Cannondale as my training ride and about a year later bought the Langster as a commuter. I needed big frames and that was all that I could find at the time. The Cannondale is a sweet ride and I've had no problems to date (road only - never taken it on the track). The Langster is a nice frame with a load of junk bolted onto it. I'm slowly replacing all the stock components. You're probably at the outer limit (height) for a good steel track bike (off the rack that is). You'll probably spend as much on the Cannondale or the Langster Pro as you might on a good steel bike. I'd look at the Pista or KHS as an inexpensive first ride. You can always add a front brake and take it to the street when you upgrade to a nicer track bike. Hope this is somewhat helpful. Mark.
