Hi from Argentina.
I'm a beginner rider. Here in Argentina is hard to get frameset because import are block.
I have the chance to get a frameset of fuji 1.0


Is a good frameset to start-is stiff?- or i should keep looking around or maybe buy on another country another frame?

I was read about trail on trakc bikes
Suggest 55-57 (57 for neutral track bike).

This fuji have 63 trail. That is not track for sure, right?

I'm not sure about the model year of the link, but I don't think Fuji's vary much year-to-year.

Its been around for quite a while,
the Track 1.0 2011 is like the track pro and is AMAZING
stiffer than a teenager at a titty bar

the later models are defiantly good enough to race right up though national masters level, (with a few component upgrades) the stock wheels where ridiculously heavy.

I'm not a Fuji historian, but from a quick search it does look like the 1.0 was a short lived model with only 2011 & 2012 model years.

I suspect the fork offset of 3 is a typo on the 2012 specs from Fuji, but then again, there may be a bunch of errors in their specs. For example, if both frames have the same BB drop, then they should both have the same BB height given they are the same material from the same manufacturer.

Actually, the fork offset of "3" is right. The measurements are in cm, so 3cm offset seems normal. "35" (cm) in the previous model is the typo. It should probably be "3.5".

3cm vs 3.5cm is because they are different forks.

If I remember correctly, Fuji used the Alpina Wing Pista as their track fork for a while...which is spec'd at 3cm/30mm offset.

Fuji 2012 with alpina wing pista 3cm/30mm offset with 74º HdTA have the same trail than dolan DF4 who have alpina wing pista fork too 3cm/30mm and 74º HdTA.

i don't know why i'm so worried about the frameset i gonna buy. I just read a lot of geometry, lazzy geometry, sprint geometry, if the frame is stiff or not stiff. I read a lot in this forum and other website but dont feel i can take a decision.

- Until you know what you like/hate, you will have to start with something to start your preference.


It's like buying Futbol boots. Your first pair won't be perfect. You will use them then decide that you want something else. That's OK. But, you have to start with your first to establish what you like/hate.

Look at the bikes that people stronger than you are riding and see if you can afford one.

Steel can be very stiff and very affordable...even custom.

It open to me the possibility of buying a fuji track pro 09 used frameset instead the fuji 2012 than that i wrote before

Just be careful for that one. There was a time (back in that timeframe) where Fuji made A LOT of frames wrong - the chainstay flared out too much, so that you could not put anything bigger than a 46T chain ring on it. This was a boon for the hipster world, as the frames were sold very very cheap, but 46T chainring is worthless on the track.

So, just verify a decent sized chainring fits OK, and you should be good.

As @chas58 said, the 09 Fuji Track Pro's had some issues with the chainstays. There are 3 versions that I'm aware of. The first gen that had clearance issues at the spider with much other than the stock FSA crank and larger chainring sizes. The second gen had a dimpled chainstay that corrected the clearance issues. Then there is the third version with a curved chainstay without any clearance issues. Very stiff bikes, but the short headtube never worked for me as a taller trackie.

v1 will not clear your sram omniums. problematic for many cranksets and chainrings


v2.1 crimped/good to go


v2.2 crimped/may need to peel off ETC sticker thing


v3 curved/good to go








also be weary of the cut to fit seatpost. if it has been cut too short, you may not be able to get the correct saddle height for yourself.

It ok about the chainstay problem thx for the warning. It was use with 53-54 chainring and almost all crankset we can get here on Argentina.
I'm 5' 11' i guess a track tall guy too. Will try

(well, I do use aerobars for setting hour records, but that is a one man activity).
