Should I buy the FTP from Nashbar? I live in the downtown core and the bike would never see a track most likely.

The FTP uses non-standard:
- Seat post: Now a seat mast that once you cut it, it won't grow back if you need it to.
- Seat post clamp: The one-bolt system that may tilt the saddle nose down if you hit a bump (depending on rider weight)
- Seat post collar: This doesn't exist on a normal bike. However this slips down for many people when they hit a bump.
All of those "cool" changes were made in an effort to make the bike more aero. You probably don't care about being ever-so-slightly more aero...so why deal with the issues that arise from it?
Get a bike that uses a normal seatpost system and save yourself some headache.
Suggesting a frame for you sort of blindly would do you a disservice. When I got my Tiemeyer it took me at least a month of research to settle on that bike.

I had flatwounds on my fretless and they were cool. I could imagine them being weird on my fretted. I like rounds.
