:S We'll see. My goal this year was to go 11.56 (according to the spreadsheet) so anything faster this year and I'm super stoked. It's still pretty early in the season too. I was planning to shoot for nationals this year, but I doubt I'll be cat 2 by then. Would really like a medal at states or something. Maybe a jersey!

I've been told that my gut is a free tenth off my time

If that Zipp combo above are his training wheels, then I'm doing it wrong!

True. You need some box sections to qualify for the "but these are my slow wheels" excuse.

We normally go fastest kilo is 3 overrides fastest 200m is 2, next fastest 200m is 2; after that most experienced guy goes 2, provided he is not the kilo guy. So I am guessing based on the kilo times I have seen from you ... you will be riding a lot of 3s.

April LAVRA TTs at Carson, CA - Roger Young asked me if I would ride 4K team pursuit with three women (including my wife). Absolutely, that was the best offer I have had in a long time.

Here is the starting line up. Roger Young is holding me 2nd from the starting gate.

Photos courtesy of Chris Tregillis.

My wife leading.

It was a blast racing and we all finished together and did the individual pursuit about 10 minutes later.

I get that putting the fastest Kilo guy on 3 is what happens in masters racing...and Im usually fine with it- because i feel like i can be most effective there (er- ask my Teammates how that worked out)
But- Lap 2 is the teams opportunity to get up to its highest speed-
and 2nd position is harder than most people think, because you get less cover and no rest. if the team doesn't get up to their highest possible speed- and hold it really close to there until man 2 pulls off- there is nothing a good Kilo guy can do. lap 3 in a TS or Kilo is about speed maintenance.. drop me off slow and i am not going to be able to speed up.

Yeah, I agree. A lot of people think that Man1 is important but Man 2 is the anchor of the team. A good Man2 will shoot off of Man1's wheel like a rocket and accelerate even more.

We just had a 'beat a track record' day at our local track here in London Ontario, and Mr. Singleton's name was on a few. Needless to say, his records did not fall

More great shots from Alpenrose, this time from Leonard at Hotfootphoto at this weekends races.

Me with one lap to go and what I thought was a clean 3rd place ...

Until I heard the crowd cheering on someone coming up behind me and ...

That was fun to watch jmikami....and many of us were surprised at the outcome. And of course there is a photo of me losing the scratch race by a wheel, but no photos of me a half lap in front of the field for the whole entire miss and out race.

I have seen those red wheels before at other tracks. Does he race at other venues?
