I finally got around to looking at this thread. What a lot of fun. The most inspiring is the picture of the 70+ women. Fantastic.
When my mother was 70, she won the swimming race around Manhattan. She won in the 45+ category.

It is finally time to start racing at the velodrome again. Here are some pics of me suffering in the first kilo of the year at Alpenrose, pics from https://www.flickr.com/photos/krheapvpics/

Really well for the "shark" who you tangled with last year at nats. He popped a sub 1:12, which is like a sub 1:10 on a faster track (I think our tight corners dock you about 1/2 second in the 200 and 2 seconds in a kilo), but it was a nice night weather wise. I was 2 seconds off my target, but still 1 second faster than last year at the same time with 1:15.1. I am fighting my position too much and might need to go less aggressive. I am not getting the same power numbers on my track bike as compared to my road bike - just doesn't feel right yet. But it is good to get the first one out of the way.

I am thinking 1/2 cm higher on seat for track TT and 1 cm higher on stem I like to point my toes a lot more in a TT and makes my legs come up too much. Maybe more reach, but the reach doesn't feel like the issue, hip angle is the issue.

Yes.. Yes it is. That's why I opted to do a 500 yesterday...which still felt like a kilo, hahahaha. Even though I used 32/36 spoked training wheels, I was slightly faster than last year when I used race wheels. So, I'm encouraged by that.
Congrats on the good ride.
Yes, the Alpenrose turns are like slamming into a brick wall...especially for bigger guys. The turns really scrub off a lot of speed.

From the same event as jmikami...
early lap (lap 2?)
late lap (lap 4 maybe)

Still getting used to the bike. I think the position is good though, and my time wasn't all that bad for being this early in the season. I'm experimenting with a little higher position to focus on bike control. Still had a moment going through turn 1/2 on the first lap...

Here I am during the last stretch of a standing 500M yesterday.
credit:https://flic.kr/p/nuvvx6
Remember this chart that VancMac posted:
By the time the photo was taken, my anaerobic ATP and ATP-PC stores are empty. I'm switching over to aerobic energy (which is pretty non-existent in me, hahaha). When that happens I do this thing where I try to remember to relax and breath. You can see my pursed lips as I focus on breathing and my loose fingers as I try to relax my upper body.
It still hurt.
I'm still waiting on my new frame with a longer TT so my back will lay down a lot.

All I see are some sweet, sweet Giro Empires! And Casco. Oh, and what gloves are those? I haven't really found any aero (or, at least "smooth") long-finger gloves other than 5Bling.

Oscar at Simple Bikes. He's local and very engaged. We've got a good plan in the works.
Basic $20 Nike baseball gloves
My lady got me some 5Bling gloves 2 Christmas' ago. But, I found that they didn't fit well. My daily gloves are the Nike baseball gloves and my "special occasion" gloves are some golf gloves I got from the clearance bin.

Nice!
me and Jaytron are both rocking Black Dolans and Alpina Bars...
unfortunantly it's not just my Bike Frame that appears to be an older model...

That was a great day of racing!!!
The Shark and I qualified 1-2 in the 200m (despite me smacking a sponge in 3-4 and nearly crashing)
We both rode no less than 7 undefeated rides before finally coming up against each other like 8hrs after the day started.
I rode him from the front and I rode him from behind and he crushed me in 2 straight rides.
No feelings other than total respect- to know how hard i train and to know that on race day he showed up and kicked my ass- he was the Champion for sure!

Same Casco!
and I think I have a set of Pink Mechanix Gloves that I won in a Crit-Prime.. I'll bust them out and we can do an all matching Team Sprint at some point
I assume you like to be man 1?
Babypuke? You in for that one??

At this point, you would be a much stronger man 3. Plus, JT just did an 11.5 outdoors on training wheels, and is on the rise. I predict sub-11 from him at LA before the year is out. No pressure, Jaytron!!
