Racing at Encino -- a thing of the past? Alternatives?
Greetings everyone.
Years ago, I used to go out to Encino Velodrome for Saturday night races; it was great fun. Lots of races, cheap admission, good folks.
It looks like they don't do that anymore. At least the schedule at www.encinovelodrome.com doesn't show anything that looks like that.
When did they discontinue that kind of racing?
Any alternatives in the area? I live up in Ventura County so I'm hoping to avoid a long drive to Dominquez Hills/Carson.
Thanks!

PS -- after some thought, I posted in the Track forum instead of the SoCal forum, thinking folks here would know more about the track racing scene...

Looks like they have something at least once a month: https://encinovelodrome.org/schedule.htm
Not to mention a very active training schedule: https://www.google.com/calendar/embe...&gsessionid=OK

San Diego has USAC sanctioned races on Saturday nights once a month through September. Next two are May 26 and June 9. Racing starts at 6 pm, reg. closes at 5:45. In April there were 67 riders, a few drove down from LA.

Hendo- I recently emailed an info address at Encino (I believe it was TRCKRCR@aol.com) and got one response from someone there. Apparently they do a Wed night series that may be starting soon and possibly a Tues night one as well. I'm fairly new to track racing so I'm hoping this will be the case, I want to do some racing!
