Training Variation of Team Pursuit?

I'm trying to remember back 20+ years ago when I used to do the fun training sessions on the Dorais track in Detroit. I recall folks then mentioning a variation of the Team Pursuit that seemed neat. Does anyone here know of different ways of doing the Team Pursuit? It might just be a training game and not officially used in racing, not a real event.

On a related note, I used to like Win'n'Out and Miss'n'Out and Snowball and the Madison and, well, all the nifty "reindeer" games to have fun with on the track. I wasn't ever very good at them but I think they really helped my road racing and riding. I never felt like a crit was crowded after a few fun sessions on the track!

Anyway, I was wondering about the various team games that could be done on the track. Thanks, JP

Things to do at the track? The fun thing to do at the Dorais is hipster mountain bike racing and some motorcycle racing ;-(

For normal velodrome riding, there is fast pacing behind a scooter, having pairs of riders lap the field, interval training (30seconds on, 30 seconds off, repeat), etc…

Yeah, they have new fun at Dorais.

So, anyone know any fun training variations on the team pursuit?

Maybe all I'm thinking of is a team pursuit where a rider pulls then drops out each lap -- one-lap max-effort pulls. Is there such a thing?

That's it! Thanks. I thought I had googled that term already. I was thinking it had the name of a country in it and the first thing I thought of was Italian but for some reason that came up empty for me. Thanks!
