1) If it were significantly light, they'd say so...they don't.

2) It's an Aluminum frame with a Carbon fork. It will likely weigh the same as any other similar frame.

+weight is pretty low on the issues when it comes to track racing, especially frame weight.

Its significance is somewhat a personal question. A light rider will notice the acceleration difference between a 20lb bike and a 15lb bike. Some of the guys that are 250lbs of muscle, less so. That regular Langster feels pretty darn heavy, but I would expect the pro to be competitive.

As I think Bitingduck has mentioned, in races that have lots of speed changes, like a points race, one does feel the effect of a heavier bike as it takes more energy to accelerate and decelerate it.

In time trials it's less of an issue as once you get the weight moving, it becomes useful momentum.

I just want to build it a light as possible and if the frameset weight is in the 4-1/2lb range then I might as well keep my 725 (unless the Langster Pro is noticeably stiffer)

Only have eyes for the Langster Pro because my LbS has one in my size ready to be picked up. Can someone suggest a better frame in a -$750 price range?

Are you racing on a velodrome? Which one? What kind of racing do you do? What wheels do you have on your leader? Why do you want to build the lightest bike possible?
